Figuring out what to wear to all your holiday engagements can sometimes be more stressful than fun. Not only can it get to be expensive, but it can also be confusing (is that mini skirt okay for the office party? Are sequins too much for a casual dinner party?) Fortunately, I’ve done some of the legwork for you. Drawing inspiration from three style-savvy celebs, I put together three totally affordable looks using key pieces from the nicole by Nicole Miller collection. Add personal touches to make each outfit your own, then raise a glass and get ready to shine!

1. Your best friend’s holiday dinner party: Just because you’re not heading to a fancy club or formal fete doesn’t mean you can’t have a little sparkle. If you and your girls love fashion, this is the perfect excuse to get dolled up in a chic black sequin dress. Take a cue from Olivia Palermo and accessorize with a nude clutch and heels. Feeling chilly? Add opaque tights and a cashmere sweater or fur shrug to keep warm.

2. The Office Party: A long-sleeve sweaterdress is professional and polished yet feminine and fun. Show co-workers your cool side with an animal print scarf and a bright pop of red – a color that’s always classic but especially hot this season. Pippa Middleton shows us how its done right.

3. Day of Holiday Shopping: You’re a woman on a mission, so gear up for a busy day of shopping with stretchy skinny jeans, comfortable flat boots and a cool black moto jacket a la Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Add interest with edgy accessories, like a leopard print bag, dark shades and wide-brim hat.

PR Department’s Holiday Cookie Swap

The Nicole Miller PR girls definitely know how to ring in the holidays. They celebrated with a cookie swap and champagne party here in the office. What’s better than bubbly and baked goods?! Everyone put their baking skills to the test and came up with some really delicious creations. (P.S–who ever said that fashion girls don’t eat?!) There was every kind of cookie imaginable but our favorite by far was Licensing Manager, Rumika’s Chocolate Peppermint Cookies. She was nice enough to share her recipe with us so that we can recreate for our friends and family over the break. Try it and tell us what you think!
